Not only Biella: a trip to Brunello
Negli ultimi mesi un nuovo sostenitore è entrato a far parte della famiglia del Biella Master, stiamo parlando della Brunello Spa, una realtà con tanti anni di storia ma sempre al passo con le nuove tendenze e leader nel campo delle fodere e non solo.
L’azienda, nata dall’intuizione di Giuseppe e Maria Ghiringhelli a Brunello, un piccolo paese in provincia di Varese, nel lontano 1927 ha creduto nelle grandi potenzialità del settore tessile e ha creato quello che oggi è un punto di riferimento per tutti i confezionisti d’Italia e di tutto il mondo che ne apprezzano la qualità e il design. Oggi è Elisabetta Gabri, la nipote del signor Giuseppe, a
portare avanti le redini dell’azienda con grinta e lungimiranza, puntando tutto sullo sviluppo tecnologico e la creatività. Il core business dell’azienda sono le fodere, realizzate con le migliori fibre artificiali come il Cupro ma la produzione comprende anche tessuti per abiti da cerimonia, tessuti da esterno, foulard e il nuovissimo Bem Bazin, nato quasi per caso come una scommessa e oggi prodotto di punta dedicato esclusivamente al mercato africano. Tradizione, qualità e sostenibilità sono solo alcuni dei valori di cui questa prestigiosa azienda si fa portavoce e quando grazie alla loro estrema disponibilità si è presentata l’occasione di fare visita ai loro stabilimenti noi masterini non ci siamo tirati indietro. Durante i tre giorni di stage abbiamo avuto la possibilità di venire a contatto con una realtà completamente diversa da quella a cui siamo abituati; la tessitura e il finissaggio delle fibre sintetiche sono così diverse dalla lana e per questo la nostra visita è stata una piacevole occasione di scoperta e apprendimento. La tessitura jacquard in particolare è il punto di forza della Brunello, che crea e mette in produzione ogni anno milioni di metri con fantasie, disegni, colori e armature incredibili. È straordinario poter conoscere tutti i segreti di un’arte così antica come quella della tessitura jaquard e comprendere quanto ampia sia la varietà di tessuti che si possono creare con questi telai. Potenzialmente non ci sono limiti e, per questo motivo, abbiamo potuto metterci in gioco anche noi creando il nostro personale tessuto. Scelte l’immagine di fondo e le armature da mettere in macchina, con l’aiuto dei disegnatori e qualche piccolo accorgimento, in poche ore la nostra creazione ha preso vita ed è tornata a Biella con noi. Un’esperienza ricca e coinvolgente che va ad aggiungere ancora un importante tassello alla nostra educazione ed entrerà di diritto nelle future edizioni del Master. Per questo motivo, un grande grazie va alla Brunello Spa per l’accoglienza e la gentilezza dimostrata nei nostri confronti e al Biella Master che ha organizzato anche questa entusiasmante attività.
Recently, a new supporter has joined the Biella Master family: we are speaking of Brunello Spa, a reality with many years of history but always up to date with the new trends and leader in the field of linings. The company, born from the intuition of Giuseppe and Maria Ghiringhelli in Brunello, a small town near Varese, back in 1927 believed in the great potential of the textile sector and created a point of reference for all the packagers in Italy and all over the world who appreciate its quality and design. Today Elisabetta Gabri, Giuseppe's granddaughter, carries on the reins of the company with determination and farsightedness, focusing on development technological and creativity.
The core business of the company are the linings, made with the best artificial fibers such as cupro but the production also includes fabrics for formal dresses, outdoor fabrics, scarves and the brand new Bem Bazin, born almost by chance as a bet and today a top product dedicated exclusively to the African market. Tradition, quality and sustainability are just some of the values that this prestigious company believes in; when the opportunity to visit their factories just knocked our door, we did not hold back. During the three days of internship, we had the opportunity to come into contact with a reality completely different from the one to which we are used to; the weaving and finishing of synthetic fibers are so different from wool, so this visit was a pleasant opportunity for discovery and learning. The Jacquard looms in particular are the strengths of Brunello, which create and put into production every year millions of meters with incredible patterns, designs, colors and armor. It has been extraordinary to be able to know all the secrets of such an ancient art and to understand how many different fabrics can be created with these looms. Potentially, there aren't limits and, for this reason, we were able to get involved too by creating our personal fabric: we choose the background image and the armor. With the help of designers and a few small tricks, in a few hours our creation came to life, ready to travel with us back to Biella.
