Un unico Filo
Il 23 e 24 febbraio si è svolta a Milano la 57esima edizione di Filo, la fiera di settore riguardante proprio il mondo dei filati. Tanti gli attori coinvolti: filature, tintorie, commercianti di materie prime, buyer, associazioni ed istituti. Tra quest’ultimi anche il Biella Master ha avuto la possibilità di esporre il proprio materiale in uno stand e ha avuto l’interessante opportunità di farsi conoscere, sia da realtà del tessile che possono fungere da sostenitori, che da ragazzi che vogliono intraprendere questo percorso di studi.
I ragazzi sono stati anche al centro di un dibattito creato nella tavola rotonda chiamata appunto “Crediamo nei giovani”, organizzata la prima giornata. Qui vari ospiti importanti hanno preso parte sottolineando che un’apertura delle aziende verso le nuove generazioni è ora quanto più necessaria per ricevere una ventata di aria fresca, di idee e innovazioni ma anche per tramandare quel saper fare unico e prestigioso che ci invidia il resto del mondo. Non è più tempo, insomma, per la gelosia e l’egoismo dentro le fabbriche e il Biella Master con il suo innovativo corso di studi sta davvero da anni cercando di abbattere questi muri. Ringraziamo perciò anche gli stand che in occasione di questa fiera ci hanno ospitato e mostrato il loro operato: Filati Buratti, Filatura Pettinata Luisa , Iride e Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia .
Altro argomento principe della fiera è stato la sostenibilità a cui era dedicata l’area Filo Flow, che era ricca di spunti interessanti. Tra i filati esposti si poteva notare come sia diventato importantissimo avere materie prime certificate, sta tornando molto l’uso della canapa tra le fibre naturali e si pone l’attenzione su materiali nuovi come le alghe. Vi erano anche esempi di tinture e trattamenti water repellent naturali portati da alcune aziende virtuose che, attraverso la ricerca, hanno ampliato le cartelle colori e hanno fatto in modo da rendere tutti questi processi industrializzabili su tessuti di vario tipo. Mentre eravamo immersi in tutte queste belle cose qualcosa stava succedendo nel nostro tessuto, quello sociale, a 2000 km da noi, in Ucraina. Mentre a Milano si parlava di giovani e di futuro, da quelle parti il futuro di quei giovani veniva stravolto e diventava incerto. Non possiamo dimenticare che siamo uniti tutti da un unico filo ed è doveroso cercare di rammendare, uno ad uno, i buchi che qualcuno di noi può avere fatto o l’intero tessuto cederà.
On 23 and 24 February the 57th edition of Filo took place in Milan, the sector fair concerning the world of yarns. Many actors are involved: spinning mills, dyeing plants, raw material traders, buyers, associations and institutes. Among the latter, the Biella Master also had the opportunity to exhibit its material in a stand and had the interesting opportunity to make itself known, both as a textile reality that can act as supporters, and as young people who want to undertake this path of studies.
The young people were also at the center of a debate created in the round table called “We believe in young people”, organized on the first day. Here various important guests took part, underlining that an opening of companies towards the new generations is now the most necessary to receive a breath of fresh air, ideas and innovations but also to pass on that unique and prestigious know-how that the rest of the world envies us. In short, it is no longer time for jealousy and selfishness inside factories and the Biella Master with its innovative course of study has really been trying to tear down these walls for years. We therefore also thank the stands that hosted us and showed us their work at this fair: Filati Buratti, Filatura Pettinata Luisa, Iride and Zegna Baruffa Lane Borgosesia.
Another main topic of the fair was sustainability to which the Filo Flow area was dedicated, which was full of interesting ideas. Among the yarns on display it could be seen how it has become very important to have
certified raw materials, the use of hemp among natural fibers is returning a lot and attention is being paid to new materials such as algae. There were also examples of natural water repellent dyes and treatments brought by some virtuous companies which, through research, have expanded the color charts and made all these processes industrializable on various types of fabrics. While we were immersed in all these beautiful things, something was happening in our fabric, the social one, 2000 km from us, in Ukraine. While in Milan there was talk of young people and the future, in those parts the future of those young people was upset and became uncertain. We cannot forget that we are all united by a single thread and it is our duty to try to mend, one by one, the holes that some of us may have made or the whole fabric will break.
