sono questi i movimenti che trasformano un insieme di fili, accuratamente affiancati tra loro, nel tessuto pensato e immaginato dal disegnatore. Dalla creazione del subbio d’ordito, alla messa a telaio, con incorsatura o annodatura, alla tessitura stessa, è interessante notare la fondamentale importanza che ha il lavoro dell’operatore e in particolare le sue mani. Per quanto automatizzate e moderne siano le macchine tessili (orditoi, macchine incorsatrici, telai) il lavoro della persona e le sue abilità manuali, nel riparare eventuali rotture, riconoscere le tensioni, controllare l’andamento del telaio, è centrale in questa lavorazione. Grazie alle aziende Guabello, Lanificio F.lli Cerutti, Fratelli Piacenza S.p.A. e Vitale Barberis Canonico, che ci hanno ospitato per questo stage, abbiamo potuto comprendere la fondamentale importanza dell’attenzione ai minimi dettagli e la dedizione quasi maniacale alla ricerca di un continuo miglioramento sia di prodotto che di processo, in modo da rimanere i leader nel proprio settore.

As these three movements transform yarns, carefully positioned side by side, in the fabric thought and imagined by the designer. In all weaving operations (assembling of the warp beam, drawing, knotting and the weaving, too), it is very interesting to consider the importance of human's work: the person's work, his sensibility and his manual skills, are central in weaving process, just like automated and modern textile mills. Thanks to Guabello, Lanificio F.lli Cerutti, Fratelli Piacenza S.p.A. and Vitale Barberis Canonico, who hosted us for a workshop, we have been able to understand the importance of human work in fabrics creation, his attention for the details and the commitment (almost obsessive) to the improvement of both product and process, fundamental to remain the leader in its own sector.
