La confezione sartoriale: tra artigianato e industrializzazione

A maggio siamo state accolte nella confezione sartoriale, processo che unisce il lavoro del sarto, un’arte antica e complessa attenta ai materiali, alle lavorazioni e al rapporto con il cliente, alla confezione industriale basata invece su tempi di produzione brevi e grandi numeri.

In questo periodo siamo state ospitate da tre tra le più importanti confezioni sartoriali Italiane: Cesare Attolini, Brioni e Isaia & Isaia. Queste aziende hanno saputo mantenere l’artigianalità di costruzione e rifinitura tipiche della sartoria maschile affiancando processi produttivi capaci di soddisfare la domanda a livello mondiale.

Isaia produce capi di abbigliamento in Italia, a Casalnuovo di Napoli e la storia e il successo di questa azienda si basano sul concetto di Made in Napoli, un valore inteso come tradizione e prodotto esclusivo.

L'impostazione sartoriale dell'abito è riconoscibile nel taglio e nella confezione che evidenziano una estrema cura nei particolari; tutti i tessuti a fantasia, come quadri e righe, vengono studiati in modo da mantenere l’armonia del disegno in ogni piega dell’abito. Il taglio esatto del vestito realizzato a mano, la qualità della stoffa e i dettagli, come fodere, colli, maniche e asole, vengono curati con finezza e rappresentano la vera eleganza del capo.

In queste settimane siamo state seguite con molta attenzione da capi reparto e sarti, che ci hanno illustrato con passione e simpatia tutti i 200 passaggi che servono per realizzare un abito.

La lavorazione che più ci ha sorpreso maggiormente è stata la creazione della cravatta a sette pieghe; queste cravatte sono infatti il risultato di pieghe “baciate” interamente ricamate a mano.

Ho svolto il mio stage in confezione sartoriale da Brioni, brand leader della sartoria mondiale e fiore all’ occhiello del Made in Italy di alta qualità.

I capi Brioni vanno dal classico allo sportivo, dal ready to wear al totale su misura, celebre per la gamma di scelta senza limiti di stile e di prezzo. Qui alle porte di Penne, si fanno abiti da uomo usando i migliori tessuti italiani e avvalendosi dello storico know - how sartoriale proprio di queste terre abruzzesi.

Le sarte creano, imbastitura dopo imbastitura, cucitura dopo cucitura, “lentezza” dopo “lentezza” gli abiti che hanno vestito generazioni di bel mondo. Tante generazioni quante quelle dei pennesi che da oltre settant'anni a Brioni ci lavorano, consapevoli di partecipare alla creazione di un piccolo capolavoro.

Il mio viaggio all’interno della sartoria si è svolto presso la prestigiosa azienda “Cesare Attolini”, sinonimo, dal 1930 e da ben tre generazioni, di alta sartoria napoletana.

Durante lo stage ho avuto modo di approfondire tutto il percorso di un capo spalla, dal magazzino tessuti, sino agli accessori a corredo, per poi passare al modello e al taglio ed alle singole fasi che costituiscono questa attività di creazione artigianale.

Vedere con i miei occhi l’importanza e la complessità di ogni singolo passaggio mi ha permesso di capire quanto lavoro e cura ci voglia per realizzare dei prodotti tanto personalizzati ed esclusivi.

Ogni piega, ogni taglio, ogni lentezza, ogni punto infatti sono il frutto di gesti precisi che solo l’esperienza e il profondo saper fare artigianale possono produrre.

Una delle frasi che mi ha colpito maggiormente e che mi è stata ripetuta più volte nel corso delle due settimane è stata: “Per noi un millimetro è come un metro” per indicarmi l’attenzione al dettaglio e la costante ricerca qualitativa che viene dedicata ad ogni capo e che solo mani sapienti ed occhi attentissimi possono ottenere.

Infine credo proprio che, oltre a tutti gli insegnamenti, non dimenticherò mai la passione che traspare nella famiglia Attolini e in tutti gli artigiani che ho conosciuto.

In May, we were welcomed in the tailor-made production, a process that combines tailor work, an ancient and complex art that attracts materials, workmanship and customer relationship, to industrial packaging based on short production times and large numbers.

In this period we have been hosted by three of the most important Italian tailorings: Cesare Attolini, Brioni and Isaia & Isaia. These companies have been able to maintain the craftsmanship of construction and finishing typical of male tailoring, alongside production processes able to meet global demand.

Isaia & Isaia produces garments in Italy, in Casalnuovo di Napoli and the history and success of this company are based on the concept of Made in Naples, a value intended as a tradition and exclusive product.

The tailor-made dress is recognizable in the cut and in the packaging that show extreme care in details; All fancy fabrics, such as paintings and rows, are designed to keep the harmony of the design in every fold of the gown. The exact cut of the handmade dress, the quality of the fabric and the details, such as covers, hoods, sleeves and slots, are handled with refinement and represent the true elegance of the head.

In these weeks we have been followed with great care by department heads and tailors, who have shown with passion and sympathy all the 200 steps they need to make a dress.

The most surprising thing about us was the creation of a seven-fold tie; These ties are in fact the result of "kissed" folds entirely embroidered by hand.

I did my internship at Brioni, a worldwide famous tailor-made clothing brand, Flagship of the high quality productions Made in Italy.

The Brioni garments range from sportswear to casual, ready-to-wear to full-size, renowned for the variety of it stylistic proposal. Here, at Penne, men's dresses are made using the best Italian fabrics and utilizing the historical tailoring know-how of these Abruzzo lands.

The seamstress create, basting after basting, sewing after sewing, "slowness" after "slowness" the clothes that have dressed generations of “ bel mondo”. As many generations as those of the Pennesi that for over seventy years work in Brioni, aware of been part of the creation process of a small masterpiece.

My journey within the tailoring was held at the prestigious company "Cesare Attolini", synonymous since 1930 and for three generations of high Neapolitan tailoring.

During the internship I was able to deepen all the path of a dresser, the wardrobe, to the accessories, to go to the model and the cut and the individual phases that constitute this craft creation activity.

To see with my eyes the importance and complexity of each step has allowed me to understand how much work and care it wants to achieve so personalized and exclusive products.

Each bend, every cut, every slowness, each point is the result of precise gestures that only the experience and profound craftsmanship can produce.

One of the sentences that struck me most and that I was repeated several times over the course of the two weeks was: "For us a millimeter is like a meter" to point out the attention to detail and the constant qualitative research that is devoted to Every boss and that only wise hands and attentive eyes can get.

Finally, I believe that, in addition to all the teachings, I will never forget the passion that comes to the Attolini family and all the craftsmen I've known.
